I'm starting to believe his return to power is inevitable. I know that's pessimistic, but unless they find him guilty and hang him, someday they will just break him out of jail and he'll rise back to the top.

In my own opinion, he should have been givin the death penalty. If spending life, he will eventually be broken out. He doesn't act civilized, why should we; besides, people have been put to death for stupider stuff.
This was the reason I think that:
a: there should have been no invasion, but let the people overthrow the dictator
and
b: any human rights violations trials should be handled by international courts to avoid this kind of partiality.

He is not being tried by the US and the death penalty is quite likely. Just have to find a judge that can handle the job. If found guilty, the sentance will be death by hanging.. Or at least that's my understanding.
