Bill to move the DCS to the Whitehouse

Just what we need: more power being moved to the Whitehouse.
Quote:

Giving the White House cybersecurity responsibility was one of the top recommendations of a commission (appointed by Obama) that produced a report last year to advise President (then candidate) Obama on cybersecurity issues.

I'm furious that one of my own state's senators is part of drafting the actual verbage on this. Olympia Snowe might as well just go ahead and change her party affiliation at this point.

Looks as if it creates yet another "office" that will be a giant waste of resources. Would be nice if they would just take care of important things instead of @!#$ they dont need to be concerned with.

Should we start calling O.B.ama "Dear Leader"?

Why is it that when I see most poeple in our government speak... im reminded of the kids I went to high school with? (full of @!#$ and having no clue what there talking about)

Given the enormity of cybersecurity threats, the responsibility is a natural fit for the White House, said James Lewis, a director and senior fellow at the Center for Strategic and International Studies, which issued last year's commission report.

So now the white house would be able to control and monitor anything we say via the interweb. So if you have an opposing opinion, just like the "Militia signs" you will be added to a database I'm sure, and kept a close eye on.

And yet people call me a conspiracy theorist. Sounds clear as day to me.

Yeah, with all the stuff they're trying to pull into the Whitehouse, they'll do a much better job in assessing the real threats than the DHS.

It's just another one on the list. Seriously, everything they've been doing is about gaining more power. How do you like the bill on the table right now to give them the power to take over more companies, or the one to give them more power to regulate more payrolls in more industries?

The DCS is another way they can work on controlling the flow of information as well, since they will effectively have the power to shut down websites.

And then you have the combination of the Fusion Centers, and the FEMA camps. Read up on that sh!t and tell me they're not planning to be able to quash a revolution when it happens. Remember, they're now classifying potential domestic terrorists as people who support third party candidates, or display such things as Libertarian or Constitutional party propaganda.

I'm going to make some that just say "F&$K THIS GOVERNMENT". You think that'll get me on a watch list?

In all seriousness, though, anyone find it interesting that in the list of indicators of a possible threat, "socialist propaganda" isn't in there? It's only the stuff about getting back to our founding principles. Because the things this country was built on are the real threat to it, right?

I'm just curious as to whether you all seriously think the men and women of our military would be on the government's side should they try to actually implement a dictatorship?

well considering the guy thats making this all happen has the title of "commander in chief," they pretty much have to.

and now he wants to create his own militia, making it mandatory for 18-25 year old people to serve for 3 months at least.

I think there are plenty of them that wouldn't stand for it. I have friends that are military, and they're conservative.
Remember, they took an oath against enemies foreign and domestic, and to The Constitution.

mandatory service. a LOT of countries have it. I don't think it should be strictly military service, but also civil service, and a lot longer than 3 months. boot camp is generally 8 weeks... 3 months wouldn't do any good.

Watched link, I'm skeptic. A conspiracy-esque blog posting a YouTube cut-and-paste conglomeration of clips. Just too easy to take out of context.
I doubt there's anything behind it if Rush hasn't made mention... He's usually pretty on top of things (just watched latest Family Guy lol).

In case no one has been paying attention, the congress passed his Americorps Expansion bill by a large majority last week.
There is a very good article on it today you can read here. This has very deep implications.

People, this is just another thing that proves this congress and this administration is trying to make a totalitarian socialist dictatorship out of this country. I just heard some very unsettling news (if it's true--haven't yet confirmed it) that they are actually trying to change the requirements for cloture in the congress to get bills passed. In a sense, if what I heard was true, it would make it easier for them to pass anything they want.

Edit: by the way, I have an interesting thought that came to mind when hearing about this:

With the amount of people getting pissed off at what's being done in the government right now to socialize everything, and the outrage growing, does anyone think that this might backfire on them, and they train a lot of the people who are going to revolt? I would get a good amount of amusement out of that irony.

Quote:

UPDATE:
Between being first officially "reported" to the House and being voted on by the full House, bill managers stripped one whole section of the measure that created a Congressional Commission on Civil Service, thus removing the section that contained the language cited above concerning "a workable, fair, and reasonable mandatory service requirement for all able young people" and a possible requirement for "all individuals in the United States" to perform such service. The section could be restored during the Senate-House conference committee meeting. A new, separate bill containing that language has since been introduced in the House.
As long as that line never gets passed.

You know, I would have expected this from the previous D.C. residents, but this just seems weird.

If this ever actually gets passed and implemented, THEN you all can start talking about revolution, because I GUARAN-FREAKING-TEE you that would piss off even those wearing Obama boxer-shorts.
