It is located under the black cap on the front of the engine, just to the right and somewhat below the intake manifold.

the former." - Albert Einstein

okay, next to the throttle body, on the front of the motor, it is a drop in filter not a screw in style most of us have been used to for ever! It takes a large socket that you can get at the autoparts store! They started it on the latter years of the cavi. But it just unscrews on the top and you pull it out, twist it off the lid, and that is that! VERY EASY once you figure it out!!!!! Hope it helps.

Molded nut on the lid is a 1 1/4" socket.

Wow is this thread dead or what?!? I hope you found that filter by now Rickey. Just south of the dipstick, on the engine block you will find a large plastic cap with a hex nut on top. It takes a shorty 1-1/4" socket to unthread the cap. Inside is a cartridge style drop in filter element.
